Adelita Cantu is a clinical professor at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio School of Nursing. Dr. Cantu received her BSN in Nursing from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio and earned a Master of Science at Texas Women's University in Denton, followed by a PhD in Clinical Nursing Research at UTHSCSA. Her areas of interest include Health Disparities, Women's Health and Physical Activity.


In addition to nursing, Dr. Cantu is a board member of the Good Samaritan Center and a member of the Committee for the Advancement of Minorities and Women, The Alamo Advisory Board and the San Antonio Health Literacy Initiative.


Dr. Cantu serves as the co-director of the Center's Community Service Learning Online and Healthy Choices for Kids interdisciplinary elective courses. She is also a CSL mentor.
