Alice Gong, MD

A native of Canton, China, Alice Gong, MD received her Bachelor's in Chemistry from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi, and her MD from the University of Mississippi in 1980, prior to completing her internship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She completed both her residency and Postdoctoral Fellowship at Buffalo Children's Hospital in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Gong has been certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and licensed in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support by the American Heart Association and in Neonatal Resuscitation by UT Health Science Center San Antonio.

In addition to her current post as Associate Professor at UTHSCSA, she has held numerous academic positions, including Director of Neonatal Education at UTHSCSA, Medical Director of NNP Clinical Education at University Health System and Director of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and Director of Nurseries at Baptist Health Systems. In 1994, she received UTHSCSA's Outstanding Faculty Award, and was a 1997 Women in Medicine Honoree for the Bexar County Medical Society. Every year since 1996, Dr. Gong has been listed in The Best Doctors in America.
