The Ewing Halsell Distinguished Lecture

 

The Ewing Halsell Distinguished Lecture Series is supported by an endowment from the Ewing Halsell Foundation with the goal of bringing internationally prominent speakers in the arts and sciences to the San Antonio community.

 

Past speakers include Pulitzer Prize-winning poet William S. Merwin, and best-selling novelist Allan Gurganus.

 

In 2008, the Center will host N. Lynn Eckhert, MD, MPH, DrPH. Dr. Eckhert is the author of the one-woman play "A Lady Alone" Elizabeth Blackwell: First American Woman Doctor. "A Lady Alone" will be performed on stage at the Health Science Center by actress and award-winning playwright Linda Gray Kelley. The performance will be followed by a presentation by Dr. Eckhert, and a Q&A with the author and the actress.
