There must be one designated student leader. This student must create a free CSL Account.

Project must list a faculty mentor. Your mentor must create a free CSL Account and create a Mentor Profile.
Application Process

Submit a letter of support from your faculty mentor and community partner confirming their availability and commitment to your project before submitting your application. Mentors and community partners may email letters as a WORD document or PDF to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Confirm that your mentor has created a Mentor Profile.

Log in to your CSL Account.

Select “Apply for Funding.”

Complete and submit CSL Funding Application.

The CSL Director, Melanie Stone, will forward your application to CSL Faculty Reviewers from different disciplines. Reviewers will use a rubric that measures each aspect of the application guidelines to assign a score to the application and provide comments about the application.

Within three weeks of the application deadline, you will be notified of the status of your application.

If awarded a mini-grant and / or a midi-grant, the CSL Director will contact you to arrange an in-person meeting to go over the grant requirements. If your mentor is new to the CSL program, he/she will be requested to attend the meeting as well.
