Mission Statement

The Center's mission embraces a two-fold strategy that empahizes:

1. Curriculum: Our curriculum is clinically focused and broadened continuously through student feedback and suggestions.
2. Service-based Learning: Student volunteer service deepens the sense of service and caring for our patients.

It is our goal

• To inspire students to discover in themselves the sensitivity, caring and sense of service to patients, that, combined with superb clinical skills, will allow them to fulfill their highest potential as physicians.
• To bring distinction to UTHSCSA through a broad-based community service learning program that has the dual benefit of providing students a meaningful, even life-changing experience, locally and abroad in resource-limited areas, and providing patients and their families with an ongoing program of attention to their medical needs
