Community Service Learning (CSL) at Work

Second-year student Katie Gong tests the blood sugar of a patient at a health fair in Laredo during a Frontera de Salud project.	First-year student Ryan Horton gives a child a seasonal flu vaccine during a Student-Run Free Clinic health fair at SAMMinistries Transitional Living and Learning Center.	Fourth-year students Gabe Gomez, Obianuju Aluka and Brian Monier learn how to rehydrate patients in an emergency via intraosseous infusion during the Preparing for Global Health Work elective course.

Save the Date for the 4th Annual Community Service Learning Conference - Wednesday, April 7, 2011 from 10:30 AM to 7:15 PM at UT Health Science Center San Antonio.

Students and mentors interested in applying for a CSL Mini-Grant: the application deadline is 5 PM on January 31, 2011. Don't forget to have mentors create a bio on the CSL Directory, a required step in the application process.

Donate to the Center

The Center is supported primarily through philanthropy and our Friends of the Center. Those who donate any amount to the Center's operating funds become Friends of the Center and receive regular updates on our activities and invitations to our many public events. Those who contribute $1,000 or more to the Center's operating funds become McAllister Circle Members and receive personal invitations to meet some of the Center's invited guests in smaller, more intimate gatherings. All contributions are welcome, and we hope you will consider supporting our programs.
