Paul Brand International Medicine Scholarship
Rising MS IVs at UT Health Science Center San Antonio are invited to apply for a $2,500 scholarship to travel to an approved site for an international health experience during the 2011-12 Academic Year. Recipients will participate in a one-month (including travel time) International Medicine elective, MEDI 7003. This 4.0-credit elective is offered through Internal Medicine and supervised by Ruth Berggren, MD.
These scholarships represent an opportunity to learn about the culture and practice of medicine in a resource-poor country. You'll experience medicine in an environment greatly different from what you have seen in the U.S. and you'll learn about the role of technology vs. the necessity for astute physical diagnosis skills. The Paul Brand International Medicine Scholarship is only for use to travel and learn at an approved site.
THE DETAILS:
Thanks to generous donors, the Center has funding to award nine $2,500 scholarships in 2012. To apply, submit your completed application form and provide two letters of recommendation by email to
