Call for Student Poster Abstracts

Students from ALL UT Health Science and affiliated institutions are encouraged to submit poster abstracts describing their Community Engaged Learning (CEL) projects.  CEL projects include: an identified community need, a faculty mentor, a partnering community organization, preparation & activities, measurable objectives, evaluation, and reflection.

An abstract serves the function to entice individuals to read and review your project findings. The abstracts do not need to be related to the theme of the conference.  Abstracts have a 305 word limit.  To see a sample abstract click here.

Abstracts will be reviewed by an interprofessional committee for selection.  You will be notified by email within 2 weeks regarding your poster acceptance.  If your abstract is accepted, you will be provided details on the printing guidelines for your poster (which is due Jan. 21).  You will need to register and attend the required “Creating and Preparing for an Effective Poster Presentation” virtual session on January 15th at noon.

The Poster Session takes place at the Annual CEL Conference on January 31, 2026 at UT Health San Antonio.

3 Blue Ribbon winners will be selected from the submitted abstracts and have an oral presentation at the CEL Conference.  There will be two special awards:  A Judges’ Choice Award and Best Interprofessional Education (IPE) Project. Both come with cash prizes for 1st-3rd place winners!
