Challenges Biggest challenge to make project more IPE was scheduling between schools. Our calendars did not always match, so we were not always available at the same time.
Lessons Learned Try to make the project as engaging as possible, consider your audience and make all activities hands on. Also improve pre and post survey process by considering more focus groups or interviewing to measure outcomes instead of survey.
Success Story This project was very successful and included beneficiaries in Bexar County and Medina County. It targeted participants in an underserved area and rural community. The project was featured weekly in Parent/School Newsletter and during school meetings. There was great collaboration and partnership between the community partner and UT Health San Antonio. Both parties were vested in the project. The elementary students learned a lot and indicated satisfaction with all lessons provided.
