Global Health Interests

Since 2016, I have taken an interest in clinical education and practice in a variety of settings from teaching hospitals to rural field clinics.

In Kijabe, Kenya through World Medical Mission and Samaritan’s Purse I worked with clinical and medical officers in training on the inpatient ward and intensive care unit where we performed daily teaching rounds.

More recently I have been one of the supervising faculty on the Uganda Outreach trip where the students arrange several field clinics near Masaka and Gulu.

Finally, I have served as the medical director from June 2016 – June 2019 for the non-governmental organization Global Health Reach where our team of volunteers visits the same rural communities every 3 months near the area of Santa Apolonia to provide continuous primary and acute care. We coordinate with local physicians as well as health and infrastructure improvement organizations to provide enhanced access to basic medications, sexual & reproductive services and surgeries.

Past & Current Countries

Santa Apolonia, Guatemala (quarterly 2016-2019); Gulu, Uganda (yearly 2018 and 2019); Kijabe, Kenya (yearly 2016 & 2017)
